Franz Ferdinand Launch Greater Glasgow Cultural Exchange Tour with Huge Live Show at Stubbs Waller Creek Amphitheater Friday August 14th, 2026! The 5-piece Scottish post-punk pioneers are to premiere their Greater Glasgow Cultural Exchange Tour with an EPIC night of live music at Stubbs Waller Creek Amphitheater on Friday, August 14th, 2026 as part of their huge 2026 North American headline tour which will include all of the biggest cities including Buffalo, Albany and Boston as well as appearances at all of the biggest European festivals including Werchter and Osheaga. An absolute must-see event for the world’s biggest Franz Ferdinand fans many of whom have been following the band for over twenty years!

The band will play a number of influential songs from the early 2000s post-punk revival, and deliver an excellent live show that will allow the crowd to be able to sing along to a number of anthemic tracks. Some of the songs that can be expected to be played are Take Me Out, Do You Want To, a diverse palette of dark moods and driving beats on The Dark of the Matinée, as well as their hit singles Ulysses and No You Girls.

Their latest studio release, The Human Fear, was released on January 10th, 2025. Many of the songs from this album are played in their live performances.

Mercury Music Prize winners not once but twice Franz Ferdinand have been awarded with these prestigious awards in recognition of their music as well as two Brits, including Best British Group, 2 Grammy nominations including Best Alternative Music Album for Franz Ferdinand as well as Best Rock Performance for “No You Girls”, in addition to a number of other awards including NME and Q Awards as well as an Ivor Novello Award for “Take Me Out”.

Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater | 801 Red River St, Austin, Austin, TX 78701 - Immediately next door to the famous Stubb’s BBQ Restaurant at the north end of the famed Red River District in the heart of downtown Austin.

There is 15,400 square feet of covered outdoor space and a very large hillside for the crowd to stand on. Our total capacity is 2,200 people at full configuration. 2,100 of those are for standing room only. We are a general admission venue so you can put yourself wherever you want to get the best view. On very rare occasions we will have a few seats for special events and those will be reserved for people with disabilities and their companions who use a wheelchair or other mobility device. We have a full restaurant on site called Stubb’s BBQ as well as a food stand at the amphitheater that serves mostly BBQ but also have other types of snacks. At the amphitheater we have a full bar that serves liquor, mixed drinks, beer, hard seltzer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks. There is an ATM on site for your convenience as well.

BBQ, and additional food items are offered by Stubb’s BBQ (just outside of the back of the Amphitheater) as well as Amphitheater snacks. Additionally liquor (beer, hard seltzer, etc. as well as mixed drinks and wine), soda (and bottles of water, etc.). There is an ATM on site as well.

Important Show Information – All Ages Show. Minors attending shows with Guardian(s) will be subject to normal venue rules as applicable for children attending events. Fans attending the show will be subject to security and a clear bag policy will be in place for the show. Under 21’s will NOT be allowed re-entry once they have left the Amphitheater.

Parking Information

For the show at Stubbs Waller Creek there is no on site parking. However this is a limited amount of space. For the bulk of your stay we would recommend parking on the streets of Austin in a metered space. There are also several paid garages and lots in the vicinity of the venue as well. If you are going to a show at Stubbs and have been drinking we would recommend using a service such as Uber or Lyft to pick you up from the venue. This will ensure that you get home safely and can start to make the most of your night as soon as you leave the venue. We would recommend picking up from the corner of 9th St. and Red River St. near the front of the venue. A taxi can also be arranged to collect you from outside the venue.
